  1. Some great quotes!
"If I could I would write an entire book with a group of people locked in a room being unpleasant." - Mick Herron
Well, that one's already been done as a play: "No Exit" by Sartre. And I think Agatha Christie's "Ten Little Indians" comes very, very, very close to meeting the standard - does an island count as a locked room?

  5. >Don't Google nun's underwear."

    But of course…

Catriona McPherson sounds like a trip. I'd love to meet her.

    >I spent my first Bouchercon behind a potted plant.

    I can understand that.

    >It's quite easy to work out who the mole is in Wind in the Willows.

    Oh Pooh. That's brilliant.

  6. McPherson is a hoot. Worth reading and worth listening to. The line about the Wind in the Willows was clearly ad libbed based on an interviewer's question. Wonderful.

  7. Great wisdom. And no, I'm not touching "nun's underwear." When I was first writing, I had a story with a young woman of Russian descent. She needed a name, obviously, so Innocent Me googled "Russian girl names." Don't do this.

Welcome. Please feel free to comment.

Our corporate secretary is notoriously lax when it comes to comments trapped in the spam folder. It may take Velma a few days to notice, usually after digging in a bottom drawer for a packet of seamed hose, a .38, her flask, or a cigarette.

She’s also sarcastically flip-lipped, but where else can a P.I. find a gal who can wield a candlestick phone, a typewriter, and a gat all at the same time? So bear with us, we value your comment. Once she finishes her Fatima Long Gold.
