I have very strong feeling about things we need to do to make and keep our lives and especially our children safer. But I will only say that while I respect everyone's right to have a gun, I see no need for assault weapons. And I do think we need to address the mental health problems that seem to always come into play.
About all I can say, is to hold your loved ones close. Say I love you as often as possible. Hug your children and your grandchildren and say a prayer for the Children:
Charlotte and Daniel and Olivia and Josephine and Ana and Dylan and Madeliene and Catherine and Chase and Jesse and James and Grace and Emilie and Jack and Noah and Caroline and Jessica and Avielelle and Benjamin and Allison.
For the adults: Victoria, Mary, Anne Marie, Lauren, Rachel and Dawn.
For all their families and loved ones.
For the First Responders who are also in grief.
For the town of Newtown, Connecticut.
Enough said, Jan...and you said it well.
ReplyDeleteJan, I'm glad you tackled this. Well said.
ReplyDeleteWe are all heartsick here in CT.
ReplyDeleteIt's past time that adult fun give way to sensible gun laws.
Appreciate it, Jan. I agree with Fran and Leigh--well done.
ReplyDeleteWe can't begin to fathom the sadness and loss. And sadly, there is nothing we can do that can change what happened.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the thoughts, Jan
I am too angry to be brokenhearted. Too many shootings; too many innocent victims; and too many nitwits saying "if only the principal had had a gun!"
ReplyDeleteBut a great posting, Jan.
Well said, Jan. We can only hope that the lawmakers in Congress will be courageous enough to now take on the NRA and pass a sensible gun law.
ReplyDeleteI hope each of you will call or write your Senator, and Congressperson and just say, let's stop this senseless slaughter immediately. I think they need to hear from everyone who is tired of children & adults being killed by these high powered assault rifles, the 30/40/100 round magazines. Then we can work on mental health help. It will take some effort & work but it's too important to not do it. I don't want to take people's handguns or hunting guns. They are something different. Sure people are killed with handguns but those are not slaughterhouses.
